Hence, in this article, i want to give some useful sentences to the foreign who cant speak Turkish and would like to come to Turkey. They will be Turkish=English or vice-versa. I hope they will be helpful to you.
Before starting off, bear in mind that Turkish has some words different from English. If you don`t know how to say them, then show the sentence to with who you talk. These are: ç,ö,ş, ü, ğ.
- Buying Thing
How much is this? = Bu ne kadar?
I want to buy this = Bunu almak istiyorum
Where is the men`s department? =Erkeklerin kısmı neresi?
Where are the winter clothes? =Kışlıklar nerede?
Do you sell water? =Su satıyor musunuz?
Do you have a larger size? =Bir beden büyüğü var mı?
- Directions
When asking for direction:
Where is the nearest bank? =En yakın banka nerede?
How far is it to here? =Buraya ne kadar uzaklıkta?
How long does it take to get to Bus Station? =Otobüs istasyonuna gitmek ne kadar sürer?
Which bus do i take to get to the airport? =Havaalanına gitmek için hangi otobüse binmeliyim?
Which bus goes to Train Station? =Hangi otobüs Tren İstasyonuna gidiyor?
In which direction is the museum? =Müze hangi yönde?
When giving direction:
Cross the bridge =Köprüsü geç
It is near to the bank =Bankanın yanı
Turn right~left =Sağa~Sola dön
Go straight =Dümdüz devam et
Turn left at the first traffic light =İlk trafik ışıklarında sola dön
